Cadillac Repair: 1997 cADILLAC dEVILLE, cadillac deville, autozone

Tom,
I just bought a 1997 Deville with (4.6 Northstar engine).  Everything seemed fine with it going home and this morning I started it up and it was idling rough and my Check Engine Light was on.  When I put it in reverse to back out of the garage it sounded like it was trying to stall.  After a mile down the road, it smoothed out and ran fine, but the engine light is still on.  Any idea what it might be?  Also when I have the heater on, I don't have heat coming from the vents on the dash.  Is this just for A/C or does heat come from these as well?  thanks Tom

Take the car to any AUTOZONE store and they will retrieve the codes from the computer for free. Write down what the codes are and ask him to CLEAR (erase) the codes. Drive around a little bit and if the light comes back ON, Take it back and have him retrieve the code or codes and let me know what they are.
