Cadillac Repair: 1st gear miss, last tank, catalitic converter

Question
I seem to have a miss ..when its hot outside it seems to be worse ( better when cold )..its a 91 cad sadan deville with a 4.9 w/ 132300 miles..I resently had  d.e.q. check it at licensing time & replaced the catalitic converter & the egr valve ..the ecm computer error code said  E40 - Open Power Steering Pressure Switch Signal & shows nothing else.. all clear there are no code in the bcm ( no f nor b codes )I used some good injector cleaner with the last tank & seems to be better,& it only shifts to 1st gear manualy now to, the rest of the time it takes off in 2nd & thats makes it miss even more !! got any good ideas what to look for next?

Answer
Either the "A" solenoid in the transmission is faulty and or the 1-2 shift valve is stuck in the bore and needs to be repaired.
