1983 Cadillac DeVille. 6.0Eng

I retrofitted the a/c system to r134. When the compressor kicks in it blows the fuse. Have checked wiring at compressor. Fan controls seem to work ok. What could be the cause?

Unplug the A/C compressor and see if it still blows the fuse. If it does NOT, Replace the COMPRESSOR CLUTCH COIL or make sure that you have no bare or pinched wires at the compressor plug.
