Question -
I have a 1985 Fleetwood Broughm, the diagnostic codes read 21, 26, and 35. No service work has been done on this car for at least a year or more. It has a new battery. It will turn over fine but not start. The injectors are getting fuel. A freind says it must be the throttle position sensor, i was just getting a seconf opinion before buying parts or what other possibilites it could be.

Answer -
OK. Yes you must fix the lowest number fault code FIRST. Which is the code 21 which is a fault in the TPS.

Follow the adjustment procedures.

If the sensor has 2 perfectly round screw holes that the 2 screws go into when you mount it on the vehicle. NO adjustment is required.

If the holes are oblong and you can turn the sensor when you mount it on the car it must be adjusted.

Answer
Look on the firewall near the fan blower for the inside air and you will see a small black box with a vacuum hose attached to it that comes off of the throttle body and a 3 wire harness electrical connector attached to it.

let me know when you find it
