Cadillac Repair: 89 eldorado fails to start, rotor coil, ign

Question
I have an 89 Eldorado with 4.5 that has always run perfect until a couple days ago.  The only work was a new water pump 6 months ago.  While driving the engine simply stopped.  It started right back up.  I drove home, shut it off.  Two hours later it started easily, it ran for 5 miles and the engine stopped again.  This time it did not start.  I heard the fuel pump working, I saw fuel coming from the injectors.  The engine would crank and sometimes it would start for just a second then die.  The only codes was B552 for my A/c fan.  No Ecm codes.  So, I took off the distributor cap.  The rotor was almost completely black, the cap had a big hole where the electrode goes underneath the coil.  I figured this must be my problem.  So, I replaced the cap, rotor, coil, & ign module.  Now, it does the same thing; it cranks, runs for a second then dies.  Now the only codes is E052 for the module.
Any suggestions?
thanks, Duane

Answer
E052 only means that the battery was disconnected or power was removbed from the ECM computer at one time. This will NOT prevent the car from starting.

B552 means the same thing except that it was power removed from the BCM. This will NOT prevent the car from starting.

Do you have spark to the spark plugs ?.

Are you POSITIVE you put the distributor back together correctly ?.
