Cadillac Repair: Headlamp assembly for 1998 Seville STS, 1998 cadillac sts, seville sts

Question
The plastic lense covering the headlamp assembly on my 1998 Cadillac STS is no longer clear and has diminished the effectiveness of my head lights.  Is there a product available that I can use to remove this "haze" from the plastic or will I have to replace the entire headlamp assembly?

Thank you for your help,
Mike

Answer
Hi Mike, Yes there are some polishing compounds made specifically for headlight plastic lenzs. The kind I used and had good success with I got at AutoZone. Unfortuneately I don't remember the name or much about it because it was last used about 6 months ago at a differant place of employment. I do remember that it worked quite well although it didn't completely remove the hazyness but did require some "elbow grease" to apply and buff off. It might take a couple applications but the headlights shouldn't need to be replaced unless they are really bad.

Hope that helps. Bill
