Cadillac Repair: 1990 Eldorado Fuel system trouble, fuel system trouble, horrible gas

Question
I get E048, E049, B111, B112, current, and B552 History. 48 and 49 mean that there is a fuel pressure difference in the left and right banks, but it still doesn't tell me anything. I am wondering if it is just the computer being why it fires like this, because a couple weeks ago she ran beautiful. Now this is happening, it costs me twice as much for gas, and it runs like CRAP.

Question -
I have a 1990 Eldorado, with a 4.5 V8. (Cadillac). My problem I have is, the on board computer says there is a fuel difference between the left and right bank. My fuel injectors for cylinders two and eight are not firing at the moment, but they go in and out. When they go out, which is quite common, the car becomes very doggy, has absolutely no power, and plainly runs like crap. Not only that, I get horrible gas mileage. Running correctly, i get at least 23MPG in the city, but i get no more than 17 when the injectors aren't working. What normally causes this, and is it easily fixable? I hear this is very common for these Cadillacs. One more question... I have been arguing the fact with my best friend that this may be a displacement on demand motor (the 8/6/4). Is it or is it not a DOD engine? I hope you can help me, thank you!

Answer -
The manufacturers repair manual gives no designation as this being a DOD engine. You may be referring to the 1981 8-6-4 engine.

Are you getting any computer codes ?.
