I bought this car at an auction. Cheap price, very nice car. It does not shift correctly at highway speed. I took it to a transmission shop and was told there are a bunch of codes coming up. They cleared the codes and test drve it and it worked perfectly for several miles , but went back to the same thing after that and some of the same codes came up. THey were going to replace the computers, but now think it could be a bad connection with a ground or battery connection. There was a somewhat odd connection rigged on the positive battery cable where it would not start unless I played with the cable. I tightened that and it starts now. Could this connection be the problem? Should I check and clean all connections? Possible low voltage because of the connection?

It is possible. Recheck it for the codes and let me know what they were/are.

Answerfollow these directives to clear the PCM codes:
1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons until the display illuminates and then release the buttons.
3. After all the codes display you will see PCM?
4. Push The HI button until you see PCM DATA?.
5. Continously push the LO button until you see PCM CLEAR CODES?
6. Push the HI button and you will see PCM CODES CLEAR. Wait 3 seconds for all the PCM codes to clear.
7. turn OFF ignition

7. turn OFF ignition.
