Questionhave a 92 de ville that runs good but out of nowhere and randomly starts runnin very rough,gives itself gas,check engine and check vehicle light go on and off,all data resets,and speedo goes up and down even when not moving,including adding miles to trip while not moving.took it to local garage and they said it was computer.got one from junk yard,they put it in and nothing changed.they were stumped and told me to get it out of there.need help!what do you think?how can i find this problem?
AnswerI will NEVER understand why people buy electronic equipment from a junk yard. You have no idea if the component is any good or not and can damage more electronic systems than you alreadt have.
Perform this task:
1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.
2. Simultaneously push and release the OFF and WARMER buttons on the climate control panel.
3. Write down all the LETTER/NUMBER combinations that appear until they stop.
4. Turn OFF ignition.
Let me know what codes you got.
