Cadillac Repair: 92 Deville digital dash, gas gauge, digital dash

1992 Sedan Deville 4.9. I was driving along and with the a/c on and the complete dash went out including the speedometer, gas gauge and a/c system. I brought to the local GM dealed and said that they traced it to a problem with the BCM and did not have manuals to go further. Is this an expensive repair or is there something I can check myself such as a fuse or relay?

Yes, There was a factory service bulletin issued as to this problem and the resolution after checking all the fuses to make sure none are blown is to replace the BCM and send out for a revised instrument cluster to resolve the problem.

Expensive ?. Absolutely.

NOTE: you cannot replace the BCM and get a junk yard instrument cluster because the junk yard cluster will not have the revision done to it and you will wind up in the same condition.
