Cadillac Repair: Front and Rear Struts, cadillac seville sts, monroe sensa trac

Question
Tom,

I have 1993 Cadillac Seville STS with the 4.6 Northstar engine.  I need to replace the front and maybe the rear struts.  I talked to a Cadillac Service department, and they told me about 2500/USD to replace just the fronts.  They say that the struts alone cost 900/USD each.  Is it okay to put aftermartket struts on this Cadillac.  I am looking at maybe the Monroe Sensa-Trac struts.  If I put these struts in this Cadillac, will the sensors turn on the Service Ride Control message?  Also any information that you might have that would be helpful on replacement, installation ... please let me know.  Thanks Justin.

Answer
As long as they are compatable with the ones that Cadillac put on. Otherwise you will always have problems with the check engine light coming ON and the level ride light on the dash (if applicable to your vehicle) always coming on.

Just make sure thay are compatable .
