HI BILL,

I HAVE A 99 CADILLAC SEVILLE STS 63K MILES. I JUST HAD THE EMISSIONS INSPECTED AND IN DOING SO THEY TEST THE FUEL CAP. WELL NOW THE COMPUTER TELLS ME TO CHECK THE FUEL CAP AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I CHECKED THEFUEL CAP  AND IT IS FINE AND TESTED FINE YESTURDAY.MY QUESTION IS: CAN I RESET THE COMPUTER OR CLEAR THIS OUT MYSELF?

HI Stan, Unless you have a scan tool you will have to go to somewhere that does and they can clear the codes from the PCM to turn off the light. Starting with 1998 on the Seville Cadillac changed the way computor information was accessed while the Deville and Eldo you could still press off and warmer for a couple more years yet. That is why I suggested AutoZone because they will scan and clear codes for free in hopes you will buy their parts. Bill
