Question -
hey, i have an 81 cadillac eldorado with a 4.1L V6 and it is idleing really high. i just did an oil change, spark plugs, wires, rotor and cap. i tried to adjust the screw on the carb but it is already backed off as far as it will go. i think the throttle body is sticking. what should i do?

Answer -
You screwed up. NEVER adjust that small screw, NEVER.

What you need to do is check for computer codes FIRST:

procedure:

1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel.

3. As soon as you see 1.8.8 release the buttons.

4. Write down the NUMBERS that appear on the screen until it stops at .7.0.

5. Turn ignition OFF.

Tell me all the numbers that appear.

Answer
Let's try this again.

1. 1. Ignition ON, Engine OFF.

2. Simultaneously push and hold the OFF and WARMER buttons on your climate control panel until all the segments on the display illuminate and then RELEASE the OFF AND WARMER buttons.

3. Write down the NUMBERS that appear on the screen until it stops at .7.0.

5. Turn ignition OFF.
