Cadillac Repair: DeVille electrical problems, fuse block, radiator support

Question
I have a 94 Sedan DeVille and my dash display went out. It has nothing on it no speedomter milage gas gauge or anything else. And my blower fan wont shut off. I pulled the main fuse for the heater blower and that shut it off.And also the door locks dont lock when I put the car in gear like they use to do and last week my alternator went out and now the battery is dead. So could all this be connected? Its clearly an electrical problem but what. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hi,Ernest

You may have a failed IPC {instr panel cluster} but do some pre checks to make sure, you will need to check the fuses, one is located at the engine compartment fuse block and is labeled A3,make sure that the fuse isnt open, also check the fuses located in the trunk compartment fuse block,2 fuses labeled B5 and A5,make sure they are ok,if the fuses are ok,check grounds, both are located one near the battery and attached to the right fender close to the radiator support there is a stud and nut with black wires, make sure those are clean and tight, the other ground is located at the left ft fender close to the radiator support, also make sure they are clean and tight,if all is good there, remove both battery cables, and short the 2 cables together without connected to the battery for 10 seconds then reinstall the battery cables, check to see if the IPC comes back to life,if you still have the same symptoms then i would replace the IPC.if you need further help contact me.Thanks
