what exactly is the transaxle temp sensor and where is located?

Hi Crystal, The temp sensor is located inside the tranmission side cover. It is used to tell how hot the fluid is to allow the torque converter clutch to engage and controls how much pressure the trans pump makes to operate the clutches and bands. To replace it would take around 10 hours according to all data. Hope that answers your questions. Bill
