Hi Carole, I'm not quite sure what your question is. If you mean what happens when the service ride control light turns on then what is happening is a strut might not be able to change from firm to soft ride. Or a height sensor might be reading incorrectly. What you need to do is take your Caddy in to your mechanic and have them scan for codes and then do a diagnostic and see what is causeing the code to turn on the light. Then you will know what needs to get replaced. Don't be surprised if they say a strut is bad. If it is Caddy says you can just replace the 1 that is defective and leave the other side alone. After the strut is replaced you will need to get a 4 wheel alignment to make sure the tire(s) don't wear impropperly.
