Cadillac Repair: recharging A/C unit on a 1994 Cadillac El Dorodo, c operation, electrical connector

Question
Have replaced the compressor and recharged the system. cannot get the clutch to engage without jumpering around the relay.  Is there a reset procedure with the computerthat must be done, if so could some tell what it is or where to find the procedure

On the side of the accumulator (receiver/drier) you will find a 2 wire electrical connector.

1. Disconnect this connector.

2. start the car.

3. Set the system for full A/C operation.

4. Jumper the two wires together within the electrical connector as per #1 above.

Does the compressor engage ?.
