Cadillac Repair: 77 cadillac seville fuel injection, fuel pressure regulator, cadillac seville

Question
The car seems to be getting too much gas into the fuel body..had to drain the oil as it was mixed with gas..

I know the system VERY WELL. What is your problem and what do you need to know ?.

Answer
The first 2 items you need to replace is:

1. The coolant sensor.

2. The ECM.

NOTE: On the ECM (computer) there is a vacuum hose that attaches to it. Make SURE that this vacuum line is OK and from the ECM out to where it attaches to the engine.

CAUTION: IF the engine is EVER running when this vacuum hose becomes detached from the ECM it INSTANTLY destroys the vacuum diaphram from within the ECM.

NOTE: You SHOUL ALSO replace the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR also at this time and make SURE that it has a vacuum line attached to it at ALL TIMES.


These are VERY common faults on these older computerized systems.

Once you get the vehicle bacj up and running, Change the engine oil and filter AGAIN.
