Cadillac Repair: ignition switch on 68 caddy, steering colum, battery voltage

Question
I have a 1968 cadillac convertable,my ignition switch sticks sometimes after I crank up and starter keeps turning. My brother did not know this and he moved my car the other day. When I tried to crank it nothing happened,I removed the starter, had it checked, it was bad, replaced the starter, still nothing happens when I turn the key,but the gauges and lights come on as usual, and blower blows, but starter says nothing. Could the problem be my switch and if so how do I remove it.

Answer
If memory serves the ignition key is on the steering colum RIGHT ?.

If it IS, Your problem may be a faulty IGNITION SWITCH ELECTRICAL UNIT located under the dash mounted on the steering column.

OR, Locate the "S" wire on the starter and using a test light have someone try and START the vehicle while you test this wire at the "S" termianl for battery voltage.

let me knoe if you do or do NOT have battery voltage at this wire.
