Motorcycle Repair: sporster, harley dealer, happy new year

hey mike i have two questions first ,have a sportster custom 883 with a1200 kit in it when the bike gets hot after a long ride theres a loud taping when its cool its not there,figuireits a lifter cant get a straight anser from the harley dealer here thay want to put a new lifters in not cheap ,secound question looking toget some more power out of the bike what can i do to get it to go faster

Your tapping is probably a lifter. As long as its just a tapping or ticking, it wont hurt anything. Its just the valve lash in the lifters that is making the noise.
As to your second question, more hosepower and torgue is based on the size of your pocketbook. The more power, the more it costs. Alsot is going to depend on how much you want to spend!
You can start with changing out the cams to a higher lift and duration cam, change out the carb with a free flowing air cleaner and install a tuned exhaust. If you want to get more you can change out the heads for a more free flowing head.
