Cadillac Repair: 1992 Seville computer problems, electrical schematics, door switches

Question
I have a 1992 Seville with two problems.
1. When you start the engine it will run fine and then all of a sudden it will say that it is over heating and that it is setting the timing into safe mode. I know that it is not over heating because I can watch the temp and it will go fromm 100 degrees to over heat in a second. I have replaced the temp sending unit. That did not help.

2. The interior lights go on and off when ever they please. Thier is no ryme or reason for this. it will keep doing it until it drains the battery.
Thank you for any help you can provide

Answer
What mechanical work or ANY kind of work has been performed on the vehicle recently ?. As most problems that occur after a recent repair was made can be traced back to the area of where the repair was made as a  wire connection or ground wire may have came loose, Look around in the area where work was performed.

What temperature sending unit did you replace ?. How many wires are connected to it and what COLOR are the wires ?.

As to the interior lights this could be caused by ANY one of the door switches and or the relay or the BCM computer.

IF you can read and perform somple tset procedures using a test light and a DIGITAL OHM METER we can perform some test procedures as I ca e-mail you an electrical schematic to show you what to test.

In MOST cases the fault is usually at the drivers illuminated entry contacts at the key lock behind the drivers door panel.

IF you can READ and perform some basic electrical tests, I can provide you with the necessary information.
