Cadillac Repair: 1995 Cadillac blower, cadillac deville, minuits

Question
I have a 1995 Cadillac Deville, the blower quits blowing, and you can disconnect the power, either by unhooking the battery or pulling the relay fuse and it will start to work again and will work for a couple of days . Also the last couple of days when you get in it to start it acts like the battery is dead and the the info  center lights up and says wait 3 minutes to start after it counts down from 3 minutes it starts right up. any idea how to fix this or reset the computer? This car has about 90,000 miles on it and I have had no problems with it up to now.

Answer
Hi Mike, Sounds like the blower motor might be on the way out and need replacing. It has to have power and ground plus a voltage signal to control the blower speeds. A shop might need to diagnos this problem because parts are expensive and a new motor might not fix it. As for the 3 minuit wait what might have happened is that one of the 2 small wires comming from the ignition lock cylinder has broken in two and sometimes the wire ends touch and the engine can start and other times the ends don't and it makes you wait 3 minuits as a security/theft prevention. Sometimes it could be a defective or dirty key and if it works useing a differant key for 1 week then eithor clean the key pellet with a mild cleaner or replace the key. If it still acts up then you will need to have a shop replace the lock cylinder and 2 keys. Bill
