Cadillac Repair: non start, seville sls, weird sound

i have a 1995 seville sls northstar it quit running and wont restart and while turning over eng it has a weird sound no knocks or grinding.  also the water pump belt broke  help

Hi Kevin, The 2 problems are probably unrelated. Check your water pump to make sure it turns easy as it may have locked up. For an engine to run it must have compression...timing chain or belt not broken, spark and fuel. The pump could be working but the computor might not be opening the injector or the injector fuse could be blown. I would recommend taking it in because with out hearing the noise it is tough to recommend a fix and to diagnose a no start requires some special tools. Even changing the water pump requires a special shaped big socket. Sorry I can't be more help. Bill
