Cadillac Repair: 1990 Eldorado wipers, lh side, wiper arms

The wipers on my 1990 Eldorado tend to go off the windshield at times when they are on.  Also when I shut them off they sometimes do not park.

Hi Bob, If the wiper arms have never been taken off then maybe the linkage/transmission is getting worn out. If the wipers both don't park on the stops by the same amount there is a small flap on the LH side plastic cover above the wiper motor area. Useing a socket through the opening you can loosen both screws and get some adjustment downward and then tighten the screws up. If one arm is the problem then take it off and see if reinstalling it 1 tooth makes a differance....As for the park problem it sounds like you will need to replace the wiper motor assembly. At the dealer under warrenty we had to replace the park switch which usually got bent but in your care it would be best to just replace the assembly. The other thing you could try that sometimes helps is to remove the black cover(3 screws) and bend the 2 spring tabs up alittle so they push on the cover before it gets fully seated and then try it for awhile and see how it works.
