Cadillac Repair: 1994 cadillac sls a/c, 1994 cadillac sls, orifice tube

1994 cadillac sls a/c clutch does not kick in recharged a/c installed 2 new temp sensors lo presure switch hi cutout switch new dryer cleared all codes used jumper wire to compressor kicks on a/c blows cold presures are all good has new compressor new orifice tube. history has been in shop twice for a/c 1 time low presure switch worked for 1 week quit 2nd time they said it was orifice tube worked one week quit there is no power to compressor unless jumped fuses good cleared codes tru heater is that the right way to clear codes on this model where does the the compressor get its power from do you think i might have broken wire going to compressor.

Hi Shannon, Unless the codes are cleared eithor with a scan tool or through the dash the compressor won't engage. Hooking up gages to the system will verify there is enough pressure to close the switches. Doublecheck the fuse and relay for the compressor...eithor one will disable the a/c. I have seen several times where the high pressure switch or anti spikeing diode for the clutch goes open and the comp. won't engage. Testing the wires will also need to be done if nothing turns up. Having a shop manual would be very helpful durring testing. Bill
