Cadillac Repair: struts, alittle, air lines


Question
my car bottoms out on a little place in the road
with new struts sears put on.is something wrong
with the struts or the leveling parts?1988 cat

Hi Charles, If the car looks level then the springs could have weakened and the whole car is sitting lower or the struts aren't heavy duty enough to support the weight of the car over bumps. If the car never did that before that I would suspect the struts are the wrong ones for the car. If the rear is sagging or lower than the front then the level ride system needs to be checked out to see if the air lines were left off or the system is still able to control the rear height. The rear should sit just alittle bit higher than the front. Some vehicles will bottom out on bumps and others will not. Bill
