Question
Hi Bill,
I have a 91 El Dorado with 33,000 original miles.
While driving the car will just shut off and the dash computer will say security system. Sometimes it will turn over right away other times it will take 20 minutes to start. I have changed the plugs and wires cap and all. Please help, Thank you

Answer
Hi Jimmy, Wow a '91 with 33K...such low mileage I bet you have offers to sell all the time. I have never known the car to shut off while driving  due to the PASS KEY system and then display that message. However I have seen where the car will not start and display that message because one of the wires comming from the ignition lock cylinder has flexed too many times and broken in two because of turning the key. The other thing that happens is the cam sensor inside the distributor fails or the wiring harness inside the distibutor goes open and the engine will quit while driving. A code E41 will be stored by the ECM when this happens. Sounds like you might have 2 issues going on here and will need to take it to a shop to diagnose. Bill
