Cadillac Repair: 1989 Cadillac Eldorado front rotating noise, vehicle speed sensor, cadillac eldorado

Question
Hello,
I have a 1989 Eldorado with 75,000 miles on it. I just had the front brakes done because of a clogged R front brake hose, caliper was ok so they replaced both brake hoses and pad, and a new rotor on the RIGHT side.  When they blead the brakes they broke the bleeder nut off of the LEFT caliper and had to replace it, I was kinda pissed off because that was the side that was ok.  Anyway I left and bakes were great but I started to hear a rotating noise coming from the front, like a rubbing noise something rubbing against something.. possibly L side.. you would hear it at about 25-30 mph and would increase with speed.. braking would not affect it, and coasting in neutral you would still hear it.  I took it back to the brake shop the next day and they heard it and checked it out but didn't see anything wrong with it put it on the lift and ran it in gear and didnt hear the noise.. they said there was nothing rubbing against the rotors and the hub bearings were ok.  I took the wheels off and looked at everything, looks ok.  Any ideas, this wasn not happening before I took it for the brakes, No codes either..  Can a Vehicle Speed Sensor in the transmission do this? thanks

Answer
Hi Jim, What sometimes happens to me is the metal shield next to the rotor gets bent so it touches the rotor and then that type noise occurs. Hub and bearings will make noise but take some speed, around 30mph, to be audible and then get louder with speed or if the weight is shifted to the side with the bad bearing. If the steering wheel is turned to the other side and weight taken off then the noise is lessened. Since you had calipers replaced then maybe one might be rubbing on the inside of the rim in which case there should be a witness mark or line on the inside. Installing a differant brand caliper would then correct the noise. Hope that helps. Bill
