Cadillac Repair: Driver Side Power Window Problems of Cadillac Devel 99, cadillac devile, wireing diagram

Question
The driver side window of my Cadillac Devile (1999) can't go up. It happened two weeks ago and backed to work later of that day. All other three windows are working fine.

I tried to take the switch module out and sprayed some switch contact cleaner from RadioShack as someone in the forum suggested, but it did not work. When I pushed the switch to try to move further down the driver side window, I heard the motor click (since the window is already in the full down position). When I push the same switch in the up direction, I did not hear anything. I am afraid the contact for the up position is bad

Anywhere I can find the wiring diagram, so that I can use a short wire to close the window?

If the switch is bad, can I shift wires to use another switch (such as the one for passenger side window) to control the driver-side window? Again a wiring diagram will be of great help.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
Hi Jren, Unfortunately I don't have a wireing diagram available to me. All Data.com has very good info that you sign up for 1 year that would include wiring diagrams. Otherwise try your local Caddy dealer and see if they can run a diagram off for you. Jumpering the 2 wires to a battery is a good way to test the switch provided that the motor works. The click that you heard was probably the express down relay. You could shift wires to a differant switch but that would be alot of trouble...I would try jumpering the wires at the connector to battery and ground first. Bill
