Cadillac Repair: speedometer, cadillac deville, electrical devices

The speedometer on my 99 Cadillac Deville (48,000 miles)works find in the mornings, but as the day gets warmer it goes off. I don't know that heat has anything to do with it but it seems to be off after sitting outside in the heat of the day. The next morning it will be OK. There is no history of speedometer as far as I know.

Hi Gary, Its quite possable that there is a heat issue going on here. Electrical devices don't like extreme heat or cold and if subjected to eithor could cause a malfunction such as you are having. I had to replace a radio because when the heater was on too long and the radio heated up it caused the display to go blank. Maybe there is a service bulletin from Cadillac or if you are still under warrenty then the tech can call the assistance hot line and maybe they are aware of a fix. Unfortunatly I haven't experrianced this problem so that is the best advice I can give. Bill
