Cadillac Repair: 1994 DEVILLE- HALL EFFECT SWITCH, hall effect switch, metric size

BILL, FOR THIS VEHICLE AFTER REMOVING DISTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTOR, (4.9 L), THERE IS A ROTOR PLATE ON TOP THAT I AM UNSURE OF HOW TO REMOVE.  HOW CAN YOU REMOVE THE HALL EFFECT SWITCH? PLS. HELP.

Hi Sam, The way the book wants you to do it is to remove the distributor and then drive out the roll pin for the gear and then the shaft will come out. What I did was go to the Sears and get a set of ignition wrenches...I believe it is a metric size...and working under the plate loosen the screws and remove them. Then the switch comes out after removing the wire connector. Hope that helps. Bill
