Cadillac Repair: head bolts holes, heli coil kit, bolt holes

I have a 1997 4.6 liter caddy diville northstar
and three head bolt holes are strip what should I do?

Hi Jeff, Cadillac has a heli coil kit or time sert kit that you drill out the threads and then tap the hole and then install a coil that the bolt will thread into. Calling auto parts stores might get the kit you need. You will need to call 1-800GMTOOLS and order the tool kit that you need. Otherwise taking the engine block to a machine shop and haveing them do the work is an option. Replacing the block or putting in a differant engine are more expensive alternatives. I would call the machine shops/engine rebuilders in your area and explain about the stripped bolt holes and have them repair them for you. Then you know they will be done correctly and you won't have to buy tools that you may never have to use again. Bill
