Cadillac Repair: cadillac seville 93 Chugging, when accelerating,, fuel injector cleaning, cadillac seville

"When i travel on highway and then exit, when attempt to accelerate car has no power sometimes, and i need to take foot off peddle then press again slowly, sometimes have to repeat a few times to get going again, and sometimes just when i leave the house and stop and try to go again will do the samething. This doesn;t happen always, but getting worse as time passes. I was thinking maybe fuel filter? also when i come to a stop sometimes car idles really fast then i press gas hard a few times to bring it back down?    thanks for anyhelp";

Hi Dennis, You could have 2 problems here. If the fuel filter hasn't been replaced in 2 years then that would be a good place to start. That idle speed control motor might be sticking and not allowing the idle speed to drop down or did you disconnect the battery or did the battery go dead and then this ploblem happened? If so then there is an idle learn procedure that needs to be done and then the idle will return to normal. You could need a tuneup or fuel injector cleaning or replacement. If the filter doesn't fix the problem then you will need to take the car into the shop. Bill
