WHILE RIDING ANY WHERE MY CAR CUTS OFF AT ANYTIME  I HAVE A NEW BATTERY A NEW ALTERNATOR,AND I HAVE CHECKED THE STARTER.THE NUMBER 52 SHOWS UP ON THE COMPUTER.WHICH IS A FAULTY ECM.AM I RIGHT?WHEN THE CAR CUTS OFF MOST TIME IT WILL START RIGHT BACK UP OTHER TIMES I HAVE TO GET A JUMP START.I DONT KNOW THE REPAIR HISTORY, THE CAR WAS GIVEN TO ME.THE LADY DIED

Hi Richard, The 52 code means that the computor lost power or ground and reset itself. It could also mean that the computor itself is bad. Tapping it on the outside with your finger tips or knuckels with the engine running might get the engine to quit. If so then it has a bad soldier joint inside and needs to be replaced. Also check the connectors at the computor as well as the power and ground wires at the computor and the ground wires where they bolt to the body,frame and engine block. Make sure that the battery cables are clean and tight at the battery, starter and engine block. Moving the wire harnesses might get the engine to quit and help isolate the problem. Sounds like you will need to play detective to solve this one. By the way how did you read the code and if you cleared it did the code return? Hope this helps. Bill
