Answer
Henry, first of all, I can not provide "A CORRECT ANSWER" here without knowing what state you are in...

But as a general answer here, if you went to a tow company who had responded to a request from either the property owner or a law enforcement agency to remove your vehicle from a parking lot, and had done so according to the laws in your state you might of "stole your car"...

Now was the vehicle at the tow company out in an open parking lot, or was it behind a locked fence.  Was a gate open and people there or did you break in and take it.

Depending on what happened (again I have nothing to base an answer on here) you might of "stole" the vehicle plus you might be able to be arrested for "breaking and entering" or criminal trespassing...  There are a dozen or so things that could be affecting this answer, and it will be different if you are in Utah, Colorado, Maine, Hawaii, Alaska, or Florida to give examples...

Lack of information to me, means I can not provide you answers which are correct and helpful.
