Cadillac Repair: cadillac abs, abs light, abs system

My 99 escalade is showing a service engine light, and the abs system is coming on 80% of the time (no relation to road conditions). The abs light is NOT on. I have 77,000 miles, and this just started happening 3 weeks ago. My brakes are fine, what should I check next? Or do I need a dealer?

Hi Carol, You need to find out why the service engine light is turning on and repairing that code might get the brakes back to normal again. If not then further testing with the brake system will need to be done. There really isn't anything you can do unless you have a scan tool and know how to do the testing procedures. Sounds like it is time to make an appointment with the dealer. Bill
