Cadillac Repair: brakes, passenger tire, compaired

Question
Hello Bill,  It's Robert again.  I just purchased the 1988 Deville and the brakes were not working well.  I thought for sure it was the caliper.  When I took the tire off everything was scorched even the valve stem had been melted and the rotor was rusted all the way around so I new it wasn't working properly.  Anyway, I replaced the brake pads, rotor, caliper and master cylinder, it is still not working properly, the caliper will not release pressure off of the pads, it stays frozen, when I test drove it there was smoke everywhere, I don't know what to do next.  Help!!!!!! P.S. It is the front passenger tire that I'm having problems with.

Answer
Hi Robert, Push the piston into the caliper and check that the caliper slides freely on the caliper bolts. You did lube the bolt sleeves? A brake hose can collaps inside and keep the caliper applied. You might want to replace the hose. Did you get good fluid flow from the bleeder screw compaired to the other side? That could point to the hose problem. Check those out and repost if you need more help. Bill
