Question -
i have a 1986 deville and when I start it a message comes on the dash saying that the A/C compressor is off.  i yhink that it is one of the sensors but I don't know what one it is or if it realy is one of them. what do you think it is?

   thank you Ron
Answer -
Hi Ron, I think that you have low freon in the system and the BCM has disengaged the a/c so it doesn't ruin the compressor. It could be a low side pressure sensor that isn't reading correctly but without putting gages on the pressure valves you won't know for sure. These cars have a real bad habbit of getting holes in the evaporator core. Bill
Answer -
Hi Ron, Now you have me confused. What year deville do you have because a 1986 deville isn't capable of storing or displaying those codes? Bill
Answer -
Hi Ron, I'm just curious how you got your freon pressures because 35 is ok on the low side but 350 is way too hi like the cooling fans aren't turning on or the sensor isn't calibrated correctly. Code B1315 evaporator inlet temp. sensor short circuit. Code IP2781 pass-key II wrong resistor value after good. To clear the codes push off and warmer on the cliamate control panel for 5 seconds or until it goes into diagnostic mode. Keep pushing low fan until you get to the computor you need to access. Then push hi fan. Push low fan until you see clear codes? then push hi fan. To get out of diagnostics turn the key off. Bill

Answer
Hi Ron, If clearing the codes doesn't get the a/c compressor to engage then the a/c relays are known to go bad and tapping on it might get it to engage. If it does then replace the relay which is located in the fuse center by the LF strut underhood. Bill
