Cadillac Repair: Electrical Wiring short, sensor curcuit, fuse box

Question
Hi Bill:
I have an 86 Seville, which recently started draining the battery (now replaced) and keeps blowing a fuse that supports my blinkers & LED fuel indicator. My brother, who is a mechanic, recently put it on his analyzer, and tried to find the short (unsucessfully) the error messages are:
B122 Panel Lamp diing pot circuit
B127 PRNDL Sensor Curcuit
B411 Battery voltage low
B552 BCM Memory reset indicated
I first took my car to my local auto supplr store & we put in a fuse, and everything worked until I tried the left signal indicator, popped the fuse. After 4 fuses, we decided there was a short. I drove out to my brother's work & he took a quick look, but said I needed to find a wiring diagram. He also mentioned that the wires were a mess & whoever owned it before, was robbing power for who knows what, by running a wire from the fuse box (stuffed in w/a fuse)possibly the fan. I'm hoping I don't need a alternator. Anyway, I drove it home, and later that evening when my son took it out (ran the lights) the battery tottally drained. So, days later, when my brother could make it out here, we went & got a new battery. He told me just to go to work & back, and not to drive w/the headlights on. Do you know if there is a place online that I can get a free wiring diagram? Do you have any suggestions? Appreciate it.
Angie

Answer
Hi Angie, I don't know of anyplace on-line that has free diagrams. It would help to know what fuse number or name it was that keeps blowing. Looking at the wiring diagram there are 3 fuses that power the turn signals but I am unsure about the LED dislay. Those codes could have been set long ago and without clearing them to see what ones come back none of them could be a problem now. Sounds like you need to get the chargeing system checked out. The alternator might be fine but something like a light or module might not be turning off causing the battery to drain down. Seems to me that there were problems with the turn/hazzard module going bad and causing problems. Eithor have your brother test the differant systems or find a sharp electrical guy because this sounds like it could cost some money if someone just wants to replace parts. Repost with the fuse name or number and I might be able to offer more assistance. Bill
