Auto Parts: 1996 Lexus Es 300 How To disable factory alarm, lexus es 300, lexus dealer

Question
Hello,

I lost my car remote for my lexus es 300 1996. I have the key and when I open the door the alarm goes off and I am unable to start the car. This is a factory alarm that came with the car and I have the sensor by the dashboard that is blinking. The remote also had the remote engine start function which came with the car. I need to move my car please help.

Thanks

Answer
Hi David,

I have no clue, but I think the alarm is disabled automatically if the key is used to open the driver's door. Even though I'd have to think you already tried that one. I know there is a sequential code used to enable/disable most features on your car but they are trade secrets and you'd have to contact a Lexus dealer to find out what they are. They like to charge for the knowledge so be prepared to argue with them.

Looking for a reputable service technician? My advice on finding a good technician is: Steer clear of the dealership and 'chain' stores like Firestone, Sears, Pep Boys, Monro Muffler/Brake, Midas, etc. as they usually only employ ONE ASE Certified Tech just so they can say they do and chances are, that guy is the asst. manager or manager and is not in the store to diagnose/repair vehicles anyway. Find a service location in the link below or get some names out of the yellow-pages and do a drive-by. Garages that employ ASE Certified Technicians will be marked with the 'Blue-Seal' insignia. If unsure about whether a place employs Certified Techs, just ask to see their credentials. ALL ASE Certified Technicians will be PROUD to show and display their certificate(s).

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
