Chevrolet Repair: 98 chevy blazer, chevy blazer, bad cap


Question
I have a 98 chevy blazer, I recently had it plugged in and it came up cylimder number 2 misfire I recently replace plugs,wires,cap,rotor , I disconect my plug wire from my cap for cylinder number 2 and no spark arcs also my transmission is shifting rough and wnt shift up to my high gear

GOOD MORN BRANDON,ARE YOU HOLDING THE WIRE TO FAR AWAY FROM THE CAP TOWER ?? THIS SPARK WILL ONLY JUMP ABOUT 3/4" PULL THE WIRE OFF AT THE SPARK PLUG AND PUT A OLD SPARK PLUG IN THE WIRE AND LAY THE PLUG ON SOME KIND OF METAL,NOW START IT UP LIKE THIS AND SEE IF THERE IS SPARK AT THE SPARK PLUG.A BET THERE IS..IF SO WE KNOW THE IGN SYSTEM IS OK. IF NOT I WOULD CK THE INSIDE OF THE NEW DIST CAP AND CK ROTOR AS WELL.POSS BAD CAP OR WIRE....IF THERE IS SPARK, I SUSPECT A BAD FUEL INJ OR WORSE YET INTERNAL PROBLEM LIKE LOW COMPRESSION,BAD VALVE OR SOMETHING LIKE THIS.. AS FAR AS THE WONT SHIFT UP THIS COULD BE FROM A BAD SHIFT VALVE OR SHIFT SOLENOID IN THE VALVE BODY OF THE TRANS.YOU SHOULD GET THIS SCANNED AT A PLACE THAT HAS SOFTWARE FOR TRANSMISSION DATA TO SEE IF THERE ARE ANY CODES IN THE PCM FOR THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH THERE SHOULD BE..THE OTHER PROBLEM IS THE TRANS IS LOOSING PRESSURE FROM WITHIN NOT ALLOWING THE CLUTCH PACKS TO ENGAGE..BUT THERE SHOULD BE A CODE FOR THIS AS WELL..GET BACK TO ME ON MORE INFO IF YOU CAN ON THE NO SPARK PROBLEM IF THIS IS THE CASE..GOOD LUCK TO YOU,,,TOM.
