Chevrolet Repair: 1965 Impala convertible wire gets hot, diaghram, amp meter


Question
When I turn on right turn signal the coil wire positive side gets hot. This happens only when right turn signal is engaged. If I disconnect right turn signl wire white wire on the coil stays cold.  New wire harness under the hood only, not dash
What could be the issue for me to fix  327

HI MARK, I LIKE EASY QUESTIONS ON FRIDAYS..THIS IS A GOOD ONE !!! THIS A SS. NICE CAR EITHER WAY. LETS START OUT WITH HAVE YOU CHECKED BOTH SIDES OF THE TURN SIGNALS FOR THE SAME CANDLE POWER ?? IF NOT I WOULD DO SO. MAKE SURE THEY ARE ALL THE SAME LEFT TO RIGHT,IF NOT CK THAT GROUND CIRCUIT TO THE DIM SIDE. NEXT YOU KNOW THAT THE WIRE THAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT TO THE COIL, THERE IS A BUILT IN RESISTOR TO KEEP THE POINTS FROM BURNING UP ?? HOW ARE YOU REMOVING THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL FROM THE CIRCUIT. FROM THE HARNESS AT THE BULBS OR UNDER THE DASH BY THE SWITCH ???
DO YOU HAVE A AMP METER.,IF SO I WOULD HOOK IT UP TO THE POS SIDE OF BATTERY AND CK FOR AMP DRAW WHEN YOU TURN THE LEFT SIGNAL ON AND THEN CK THE RIGHT SIDE[NOT RUNNING].SHOULD BE THE SAME DRAW IF ALL BULBS ARE WORKING CORRECT. THE NEXT THING I WOULD DO IS, WITH THE KEY ON STILL CLOSE THE POINTS IN THE DIST AND SEE WHAT THE AMP DRAW IS. I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO SEE A WIRING DIAGHRAM FOR THIS CAR.  I AM NOT AT WORK,BUT IF I WERE I DO NOT KNOW IF OUR COMP SYSTEM GOES BACK THIS FAR..THE OTHER THING THAT COMES TO MIND IS THERE ARE MANY FUSEABLE LINKS GOING DOWN TO THE STARTER IN THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS BY THE BELL HOUSING [MAIN PLUS POST]ARE THEY ALL HOOKED UP ?? I HAVE A QUESTION,HOW DID YOU NOTICE THIS PROBLEM ?? DID THE WIRE BURN UP ??
