Chevrolet Repair: 2001 cavalier transmission problems, transmission shop, transmission problems

Question
if you drive the car normal. it will slip when it shifts into over drive. had the car at the transmission shop and it shows no code. any ideas other than rebuilding the whole transmission

Answer
HI LAVERNE, THERE MAY NOT BE ANY CODES FOR THIS,NOT UNCOMMON. THE FACT THAT THE TRANS IS SLIPPING IS A BAD SIGN,WHICH I ASSUME YOU KNOW THIS. IT IS NOT SOMETHING LIKE A SHIFT SOLENOID OR SOMETHING OF THIS NATURE. THIS IS EITHER FROM LACK OF PRESSURE OR CLUTCHES BURNED. IN ANY EVENT THE TRANS WILL NEED TO BE PULLED AND REBUILT. IF THE OIL LOOKS BURNED IT IS MORE THEN LIKELY CLUTCH FAILURE.  SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS..TOM
