Chevrolet Repair: ssr, chevy ssr, purge solenoid

QUESTION: On my dads 2006 chevy ssr. It completely died. My dad went out and got it started. His yellow engine came on when he got it started. It was not on when it died. My brother went back to work with the yellow engine light. Then the low voltage light came on and it died. They got it towed home and I checked for codes. The codes were c0300 p0102 p0443 and p1682 what are these codes. Also the other problem came up the abs light came on and the brake light came on it had a ! and a p like the parking brake was on I pumped the brakes and got the pressure out then I started it and the pedal went down then came up like it is suppose to be. I checked around the wheels and no fluid anywhere. I read upon the service brake system and many ssr have this problem. It is either the fuse or the abs system. How could I get this maybe recalled. It also makes a whistling when you floor it. What should I do know. Thanks.

ANSWER: HI SEAN,WOW, WHAT A LIST,FIRST THINGS FIRST. WITH ALL OF THESE CODES STORED I WOULD RESET THE PCM AND DRIVE THE CAR TO SEE WHICH CODES COME BACK..BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT CK THE CHARGING SYSTEM.THE PO 1682 IS A LOW CHARGING PROBLEM..
THE PO1682 IS A LOW CHARGE SIGNAL,LIKE THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING.THIS [MAY] NOT ALWAYS CAUSE ALL OF THE ABOVE CODES TO SET...PO 102,MAS AIR FLOW FAULT,PO443,EVAP PURGE SOLENOID FAULT,CO300 BODY CONTROL BCM FAILURE.[BODY CONTROL MODULE]
AS FAR AS THE BRAKING SYSTEM THERE HAVE BEEN ALOT OF PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS CONTROLLER CAUSING WHAT YOU HAVE. AS FAR AS YOU GETTING ANYWHERE WITH GM, GOOD LUCK !!! QUESTION: Ok so I cleared all the codes and drove it. The brake system light still comes on. I rechecked for the codes nothing. It still feels like it is loosing power. I am going to have the battery checked. The battery is brand new almost a year old. I am also going to have the alternator checked. Thanks.

ANSWER: HI AGAIN SEAN ,I AM NOT SURPRISED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHT IS ON. I DO NOT FEEL THE PROBLEM IS THE BATTERY. I THINK YOU WILL FIND THE ALTERNATOR IS NOT CHARGING TO SPECS.ONCE THE ALTERNTOR IS BACK ON AND CHARGING GOOD,KEEP DRIVING AND SEE IF ANY MORE CODES SHOW UP. A FAULTY MASS FLOW CAN CAUSE THIS PROBLEM.BUT LETS WAIT AND SEE AFTER YOU DRIVE IT. LET ME KNOW FURTHER ON YOUR FINDINGS.

QUESTION: Got the battery tested and it was fine. No body can test the alternator. What a surprise! Went to the dealer and they told me that they think it is the throttle body. If I shoot ether in it and it fires up does this mean it could the throttle body. My next question is how hard is it to replace it. The dealer will do it for 500

HI SEAN, I DID NOT KNOW THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT FIRE ??? SOMEWHERE WE MOST OF GOT OUT OF SINK WITH ONE ANOTHER. LETS START ALL OVER. DO YOU HAVE A VOLT METER ?? IF SO HOOK IT UP TO THE BATTERY. CRANK UP THE CAR TURN ON THE LIGHTS AND CK THE VOLTAGE, SHOULD BE AROUND 13.8 TO 14.5 VOLTS.IF SO WE KNOW THE ALTERNATOR IS GOOD..SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT NOW THE CAR WILL NOT FIRE,ONLY IF YOU SPRAY STARTING FLUID DOWN THE THROTTLE ??? IS THIS CORRECT..THIS TO ME SOUNDS LIKE A FUEL PUMP ISSUE. DO YOU HAVE A FUEL GAUGE?? IF NOT ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST, FIND THE FUEL RAIL ON THE INTAKE AND LOOK FOR WHAT LOOKS LIKE A TIRE VALVE STEM CAP. REMOVE THE CAP AND WHILE SOMEONE IS CRANKING OVER THE ENGINE PUSH DOWN ON THE SHRADER VALVE AND THERE SHOULD BE GAS SPRAYING OUT THE WHOLE TIME THE ENG IS CRANKING NOT JUST AT FIRST CRANK.THIS IS RESIDUAL PRESSURE.[MUST SPRAY ALL THE TIME WHEN IT IS CRANKING,IF SO FUEL PUMP IS MORE THEN LIKELY GOOD. HOWEVER WITHOUT A PRESSURE OR VOLUME GAUGE THIS IS A BACK YARD CK. SO LETS SAY THERE IS FUEL, THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD LET IT START BUT MAY NOT ALLOW IT TO IDLE OR RUN GOOD..BUT WILL STILL START. YOU ARE PROBABLY CAPABLE OF INSTALLING THIS THROTTLE BODY YOURSELF. IT IS NOT HARD TO DO. HOWEVER THIS WILL NEED TO FLASHED TO LEARN HOW TO IDLE ETC. THIS YOU WILL NEED GM TECH SCAN TOOL. THE REG FLAGS ARE UP FOR A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE HOWEVER !!! LETS US NOT FORGET THE MASS AIR FLOW, THAT CODE WAS IN THE PCM THIS AM CORRECT ?? IS THE CAR AT THE DEALER NOW OR HOME ???
