Chevrolet Repair: 1996 pontiac sunfire, pontiac sunfire gt, pontiac sunfire

Question
Hi, I have a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire GT 4-cyl and recently as my car was sitting in the back yard i saw a greenish-brown but yet clear fluid dripping under my car at the rear. Now, its right above the rear axle. It looks like it might be a brake line but i dont believe it is because of the fact that i have front brakes, so i was wondering if you could help me diagnose what this line leads to due to the fact that i am not able to jack my car off the ground and it is too low to the ground to crawl under.... could you help me out? It would be much appreciated, thanks.

Answer
Hi Ryan... it is likly a broken brake line... the fluid would be clear except when it runs off the chassie getting discolored by whatever may be on the car. the rear brake line for the passanger side runs across the chassie above the rear axel. easy way to check is to make sure brake master cyl is full of brake fluid and have someone step on the brakes while you look.. a spray of fluid would be a good indication that you have a broken brake line...hope this helps
