Chevrolet Repair: 62 chevy ss, 327 motor, propane torch, chevy ss

I have a vacuum leak. It will not idle. Have a new carburetor & lines, gasket. What could be the problem or problems I should look for ?

Hi Debra.... easy way to find a vacum leak is use a can of air intake cleaner and spray around the intake and carb. set idle stop so it will idle even if it is higher than normal... as you are spraying listen for the engine reving up... once it does move spray away let engine idle again and the spray that area again. if engine revs up again you have found you leak. you can also use a propane torch that is not lit will do the same thing. if no leak around intake or carb check the brake booster and hose to it... hope this helps
