Auto Parts: 92 Toyota Tercel power steering pump, toyota tercel, power steering pump

I am replacing the alternator on my 92 Tercel, and also replacing the 2 belts.  My problem is loosening the power steering pump.  I have loosened the nuts and bolts, but the pump still doesn't seem to want to move enough to loosen the belt.

Hi Joe.

There is probably a length of all-thread behind the pump assembly with adjustment brackets on both ends. Once you loosen the pump mounting bolts, you need to attach a socket or wrench onto this piece of all-thread and spin it until the unit is loose enough to remove/replace the belt. Use a mirror to see behind the pump if need be.
