Chevrolet Repair: 1969C20Fleetside/no tilt steering, brake light switch, bad hope

Question
The truck belongs to my son. The brake lights DO NOT work. The truck has backup lights, turn signals which both work with or without the head lights being on.

Answer
Hi Brinda... check the fuse for the brake lights...if fuse ok check for power on the brake light switch right at the brake pedal, one side of the switch should be live all the time (12v) the other side live when you press the pedal...if you have no live side, and fuse is good then check the wire from fuse to the switch for an open. (broken wire) if you can't find it run a new fused wire over to the switch, push on pedal and the brake lights should work... if not check to see if switch is bad.... hope this helps
