Chevrolet Repair: Dimmer Switch, turn signal switch, coloum

I have an 86' GMC Crew Cab Dually I bought the truck just a week ago and when I went to turn the head lights on they were on brites I looked in what I thought were the usual spots but I can't seem to locate the dimmer switch can you please help me I looked on the floor pad on left side and I also looked on turn signal switch thanks

Hi Michael.... it could be in either spot....some one may have put a jumper in the wire if it was on the floor...look up and see if someone tucked the wires up under the dash...if not and it's on the coloum the switch may be stuck and won't allow you to move the signal switch.. it should pull towards you....the actual switch would be located half way up the coloum under the dash and should have a rod that comes from behind steering wheel down to it...see if that rod is there ...if it is remove the switch and see if it is jammed...if it is replace the switch....hope this helps
