Chevrolet Repair: replacing signal switch on a 97 chevy venture, torx bolts, chevy venture

our signals have stoped working replaced the flasher assembly . now need to replace the multi function signal switch on the steering columb. how do we do this , do we have to remouve the steering wheel and if so how do we do this  thanks

Yes you will need to remove the steering wheel, many special required tools need.  First you will need to disable the Air bag system, disconnect the battery wait 20 minutes.  Then you need a special tool to remove tha air bag from the steering wheel.  These are not sold in auto stores, only by snapon or matco.  Then you will need to unbolt the wheel install the puller to pull the wheel off.  After the wheel is off you need to unbolt the column covers, then replace the switch.  I believe they are torx bolts, a T25.  then reassemble
